Overview
The Dragoon River Romp reinforces individual’s commitment to protect the environment, raises awareness of proper waste disposal and watershed protection, and provides educational opportunities for participants and the public. Litter prevention is a difficult challenge faced by all of us. The Dragoon River Romp is held each year. Rivers contain Iowa's greatest remaining tracts of wildlife habitat. This program leads participants in caring for our natural resources, while helping improve the quality of life in Boone County. The goal of the Dragoon River Romp event is to develop and implement a successful river cleanup program with the ability to:recruit volunteers, and provide environmental and historical education to participants. The event is planned to encompass both river-based and land-based cleanup teams. An educational aspect is always included in our Dragoon River Romp. This event gives families a chance to volunteer for a community event while enjoying the great outdoors
